Matt Maudlin has worked in the not for profit sector since 1997. He is a public speaker of wide experience, communicating and connecting with a variety of audiences over many years. Matt understands deeply how important it is for people’s stories to be shared and heard.

Experience in listening, speaking and honouring lives

Matt has devoted over 20 years to serving people experiencing homelessness, including 15 years as Chief Executive Officer of Servants Community Housing Inc in Melbourne’s inner-eastern suburbs. He has long given a voice to the voiceless through respectfully sharing stories and perspectives from those on the margins with many different communities, speaking to private school students, government bodies and churches.

Giving voice to stories that matter

In 2017, Matt felt called to broaden this work by helping address modern slavery, joining Ping Pong-A-Thon. He continues to serve there today as Chief Relationship Officer, after spending several years as General Manager.

Embedded in the Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Valley

Several years ago Matt and his family made Silvan in the Dandenong Ranges their home, where he recently concluded a role in Community Engagement at a church community in the Yarra Valley and continues to be deeply involved in the local community in various ways.

Creativity, community and a life of service

Creative expression has always been part of Matt’s approach to work and life, such as writing books, helping to create theatre productions whilst at Servants Community Housing, or raising funds through table-tennis marathons to equip organisations across South East Asia to combat slavery.
